This Christmas CD is a labor of love for me. Love of Christ, love of music, and love of children all across the world that need a helping hand.

Every person who buys a copy of this CD directly changes the life of a child. Every six copies of this CD that are sold puts a child in Liberia through school for an entire year.

It Started With A Modest Suggestion

One day a friend of mine said to me “You ought to make a Christmas CD.” And, so I did. Of course, it took the help of many generous financial backers (you know who you are) and some incredible musician friends who were willing to assist me.

In the Fall of 2008, I went down to Houston and laid down several tracks. BB Bamburg and Sid Davis did much of my piano accompanying and I was also glad to have Mitzi Scott lend her incredible recorder skills as well as Meredith Davis sing with me on “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”

Of course, I owe the biggest thanks to Taylor Davis who not only did some accompanying but also took on the enormous tasks of recording, editing, arranging, and even adding his voice for two notes in one of the songs; oh, the wonders of digital recording!

A Modest Collection Of Magical Music

There is something truly magical about Christmas music — whether heard in a church or in a department store. Christmas music brings the season alive. This Christmas CD is a traditional mix of religious and secular music that acknowledges the joy of the season while remembering that the birth of Christ is the reason we celebrate.

Amplified By Some Modest Intentions

My intended audience for this recording was simply for family and friends in the various churches I have served in Illinois, Georgia, and Texas who have been so supportive of me and my music over the years. I’m not looking to go platinum and am holding on to my day job for now!

But I knew I could help people in need with the talents that God gave me. So, I donate all all proceeds from the sale of this recording to support scholarships at the United Methodist Camphor Mission School in Liberia, West Africa.

After enduring 14 years of civil war, Liberia is in the process of healing, rebuilding, and trying to catch up on an entire generation who went without schools as the fighting went on all over the country. On a trip to Liberia in 2008, I was able to visit the Camphor School for a few days and quickly fell in love with the students and staff there.

They know that education is the key to rebuilding Liberia and they are committed to that task as long as funds are available.

A Modest Request

Simply put. I need your help.

It takes less than $100 to sponsor a student for an entire year which means for every six cd’s I sell at $15 each, another child gets another year of education.
